East Riding College came out on top in an independent survey of employers rating their satisfaction with training delivered by colleges. In the FE Choices survey commissioned by the Education and Skills Funding Agency, East Riding College took the top spot in Yorkshire, with an overall satisfaction rating of 97.3%.
East Riding College health and social care tutor Bev Felgate was honoured at the recent Golden Apples Awards in Hull. Bev, who is from Tickton and has been teaching at the College for the last 12 years was a finalist for Inspirational Teacher/Lecturer of the Year. She was nominated by staff and students for her dedication to her students and outstanding performance as both a tutor and mentor.

High-tech Engineering comes to Bridlington Using funding provided by the York, North Yorkshire and East Riding Enterprise Partnership and equipment generously donated by various suppliers to the industry, East Riding College are opening a new Mechatronics Centre in Bridlington. The Centre will aid the delivery of specialised engineering courses that meet the demands of the modern engineering industry, where high level skills are in demand. Mechatronics is the branch of engineering that focuses on designing and manufacturing products that have both mechanical and electronic components. It brings robotics into engineering, with a strong emphasis on an interdisciplinary approach and problem-solving skills.
